13th June 2017: Today Deezer, the world’s most diverse, dynamic and personal global music streaming service, has announced a ground-breaking and unique partnership with Anglo Digital, one of the most prominent specialist dance and electronic music agencies, whose combined vision is to make Deezer the number one streaming choice for fans of dance and electronic music.

This is the first time that Deezer and Anglo Digital have worked together to jointly build and curate a programme of activity that will create new ways for fans to engage with this increasingly popular music genre. Combining Anglo Digital’s expertise with Deezer’s dedicated dance & electronic editorial, artist marketing and product development teams, the partnership will provide a route to significant long term growth and success in the sector.

The marketing and strategy team behind Pete Tong’s sold out UK arena tour and number 1 selling UK artist album ‘Classic House’, Hot Since 82’s new ‘Labyrinth’ event at Ibiza’s legendary Pacha club and the original superstar DJ Fatboy Slim, Anglo Digital has a long history of ambassadorial work in the dance industry in addition to having a deep insight into the unique aspects of the genre and the nuanced music discovery behaviour of its truly global fan base.

The partnership announcement follows key data from Deezer which demonstrates significant growth in streams within the Dance & Electronic categories over the last five years. This aligns with statistics released earlier this month by the International Music Summit¹, which reveal that the global electronic music industry is now worth $7.1 billion, an increase of 60% in three years. The report also shared that in the USA 54% of all dance sales are streams, making it the fifth most popular streaming genre and that electronic music is the only genre to have shown huge growth in Google searches since 2009.

The first fruits of this initiative are already live on Deezer. A selection of DJ’s, labels and curators are now programming their own regularly updated playlists for fans to follow. Key to this is their placement at the top of the Dance and Electronic channels in a newly created ‘Curators Module’. Front and centre are playlists from DJs including Claptone, Pete Tong and Hot Since 82 as well as from labels including Dekmantel Records, Warp Records, Toolroom and Defected. The more commercial end of the spectrum is also well catered for with playlists from Armin Van Buuren, Fatboy Slim, Above And Beyond, Spinnin’ Records, Ultra and Armada Music.
