Deezer strengthens its leadership team with the appointment of Stéphane Rougeot as CFO and Deputy CEO
Deezer, the global audio streaming service, is proud to welcome Stéphane Rougeot as its new Chief Financial Officer and Deputy CEO. Stéphane brings extensive experience of public and international companies, with a proven track-record in supporting businesses in their growth and transformation journey.
This appointment is a further step in strengthening Deezer’s management team 6 months after the arrival of Jeronimo Folgueira as CEO of Deezer. Stéphane will work closely with Jeronimo to accelerate Deezer’s development and execute its ambitious new strategy.
Stéphane, 53, has over 20 years of experience leading and transforming businesses and organizations, including tech and media companies, driving their international expansion and accelerating their business development. His recent roles include serving as the CFO and member of the Board of Management of Signify, the world leader in lighting products and technologies, based in Amsterdam. He has also spent 7 years at Technicolor, a leader in digital entertainment technologies, first as CFO, based in Paris, and then as Deputy CEO in charge of the technology and licensing business, based in Los Angeles. Prior to that, Stéphane held several senior leadership positions at Orange Group. Stéphane is a graduate of Sciences Po Paris and the University of Paris Dauphine.
Stéphane has already started in his new position and is based in Deezer’s headquarters in Paris. Additionally, Carl de Place, who previously held the role of VP Corporate Development/M&A in the group, has been promoted to Deputy CFO to support Stéphane in his role. Carl is a graduate of ESSEC Business School.
“I’m thrilled to have someone as strong and experienced as Stéphane in our management team. He is joining us at a time when we are fundamentally transforming all aspects of our business to take a leap forward as one of the leaders of our industry. Stéphane has the skills and experience we need to support Deezer in the execution of its strategy and I look forward to partnering with him in this fantastic journey. I would also like to thank Laurent Cordonnier for his work and passion, which has contributed significantly to our success so far. Both I and the team at Deezer wish him the very best of luck in his next challenge,” said Deezer’s CEO, Jeronimo.
