Deezer sees a 560% increase globally in love songs on Valentine’s Day proving romance isn’t dead

Peak in sexy music on day of love gives insight into what gets users into the mood

Paris, February 10, 2023 – Music can be the language of love, and the one thing that can make or break the mood on a romantic date, but are people still as romantic as they used to be? To analyze if its users are still in love with love and if people get romantic on Valentine’s Day, Deezer looked at what people stream in February.

How do streaming numbers evolve around Valentine’s Day?
According to Deezer’s latest data*, global users seem to be getting in a romantic mood in anticipation of Valentine’s Day, with an +480% increase in streams of all public Deezer playlists with  “sex”, “love”, “valentine”, and other romantic keywords during the five days leading up to February 14th. There must be love in the air because there is love in the ear – It even takes until 20th February for streaming numbers to go back to their previous average. On Valentine’s Day, streams increase (+560%) throughout the whole day, with a peak at 8 pm.

Deezer has geared up with playlists and quizzes to set you up for a love-filled mid-February. Take a look below.
