Deezer continues commitment to vibrant corporate culture – appoints Valérie Bernard to Chief HR & Sustainability Officer
Valérie will be instrumental in attracting and retaining top talent, while cultivating a sustainable workplace with healthy business practices, contributing to the wellbeing of Deezer and society.
Paris, June 26th, 2022 – Deezer (Euronext: DEEZR), the global music streaming service, has appointed Valérie Bernard as its Chief Human Resources & Sustainability Officer, effective March 6th. She will set the strategy and manage the teams for talent acquisition & management, employee engagement, HR Operations, internal communications and sustainability.
In her role Valérie plays a critical part in building and maintaining a positive and sustainable corporate culture to attract and retain global talent, as well as looking after the wellbeing and growth of more than 600 employees worldwide. Valérie will also bring a bold approach to building sustainable business practices within Deezer that benefit the company, the employees, and our society.

Heading up HR and sustainability at Deezer, Valérie is responsible for developing and implementing strategies for talent acquisition, employee development, compensation and benefits, performance management, and compliance with employment laws. She is also responsible for developing and implementing long term initiatives that promote the company’s environmental, social, and governance goals. This may include developing sustainable sourcing practices, reducing the company’s carbon footprint, promoting diversity and inclusion, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Valérie will be based in Paris, reporting directly to CEO, Jeronimo.
Valérie has over 15 years of experience in the Entertainment Industry, focusing on Human Resources and Talent Management. She held various roles at Canal+ Group redefining the Employer Brand and the Talent Management for more digital and international developments. As Human Resources Director of Canal+ International, she implemented a People Strategy to enhance local talent recruitment and growth, facilitating the company’s expansion into Asia and Africa.
Valérie later joined Banijay Group, where she established the Global People Function across 16 territories and played a role in the pre-merger activities with Endemol. Her contributions involved defining Human Resources and Talent Management policies.
Prior to her current role at Deezer, Valerie worked in the luxury Industry at Richemont Group as Global Talent Acquisition and Employer Branding Director and launched her own HR consultancy boutique, providing HR support dedicated to Entertainment Companies. She is a graduate of Dauphine University.
