Deezer expands women’s chart to six new countries one year after its launch

Paris, March 6, 2026 – In celebration of International Women’s Day, Deezer, the global music experiences platform, today announced the expansion of its Women’s Chart to six additional countries, marking the initiative’s first anniversary. Following a successful first year in France and several international markets, the Women’s Chart continues to grow with a clear objective: to provide female artists with the visibility their talent and cultural impact deserve.

Driving Greater Representation in Music

Launched in March 2025, the Women’s Chart was created in response to a longstanding industry imbalance. Despite their creativity, cultural influence, and commercial success, artists who identify as women remain underrepresented across many mainstream music charts.

Over the past year, the Women’s Chart has highlighted the 50 most-streamed tracks by female artists each month in France, Germany, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, and Mexico. In 2026, Deezer is strengthening its commitment to celebrating female artists and recognizing their impact on both the music industry and listeners worldwide. The company remains dedicated to promoting gender diversity in music and enabling audiences to rediscover the breadth and richness of female talent.

“The Women’s Chart was born from a clear observation: women are still underrepresented in the charts. Yet they shape music every day,” said Narjes Bahhar, Rap & R&B Editor at Deezer. “This project is not symbolic, it is necessary. It addresses an imbalance and shines a light on what is too often overlooked. One year after its launch, expanding into new countries confirms that this commitment must be global. We have an editorial responsibility to choose what we amplify, to broaden the stage, and to ensure that music truly reflects those who create it.”

Expanding Across Europe

As part of its first anniversary milestone, the Women’s Chart is now launching in Serbia, Bulgaria, the Netherlands, Denmark, Croatia, and Poland. These markets join the existing countries where the chart is already established. By expanding into diverse local music scenes where Deezer operates, the initiative aims to spotlight female artists within their cultural contexts and connect them more closely with audiences. Each new country brings distinct sounds, emerging voices, and established icons, further strengthening the chart’s international reach.

Turning Data Into Personal Insight

Deezer is also empowering users to better understand their own listening habits. In February’s edition of My Deezer Month, users can view the percentage of their listening dedicated to female artists.

The February 2026 average stands at 27%, representing an increase of 1pp compared to September 2025, when Deezer first introduced this metric. By sharing this data, Deezer encourages listeners to reflect on the role women play in their personal music ecosystems, transforming an industry-wide statistic into a meaningful, individual insight.

Dedicated In-App Experiences

Throughout March, Deezer is spotlighting a range of features and editorial content dedicated to female artists. While available year-round, these experiences will receive enhanced visibility during this period celebrating women in music. Highlights include:

  • “Women Only” playlists, offering curated selections of female artists across all genres.
  • Flow, Deezer’s personalized recommendation feature, also comes in a version entirely dedicated to female artists, known as Flow Empower. Already available, Flow Empower delivers a fully tailored stream featuring 100% female-performed tracks, adapted to each listener’s tastes and seamlessly integrated into their everyday listening experience.
  • The personalized Smart Tracklist titled “100% Female Artists” generates a unique playlist of tracks exclusively by female artists based on users’ listening habits.
  • A global collaborative playlist created by Deezer’s female editors worldwide, reflecting a diversity of genres, cultures, and perspectives.

“With Deezer’s female editors around the world, we wanted to make the experience more human,” said Nina Boulet-Gigliesi, Music & Culture Specialist at Deezer. “This playlist creates a dialogue between styles and territories while highlighting female voices. Music is even more powerful when it tells a diversity of stories, especially when that story is carried collectively.”
