NPR’s most popular podcasts will available to Deezer users worldwide
Podcast fans are taking over the world! In 2020, the number of global podcast listeners reached 485 million and it’s expected to jump to a whopping 800 million by 2025.* We’re all for supporting this growing trend, which is why we’re giving podcast enthusiasts even more reasons to stay plugged in.
Starting today, global audio streaming service Deezer and NPR are joining forces to give podcast fans access to all of their original programming.
NPR’s catalogue ranges from business, comedy, and education, to technology, true crime and more. Deezer podcast fans will have immediate access to popular shows including: TED Radio Hour, Wait Wait… Don’t Tell Me!, Planet Money and Fresh Air. Budding journalists and news junkies, can take a cue and listen to NPR’s first Pulitzer award winning investigative podcast, No Compromise on gun rights.
“NPR’s shows and podcasts have an undeniable international appeal due to its universal appeal. From smart journalism to everyday issues including finance and entrepreneurship, to light-hearted comedy and entertainment – we love being able to offer a wide variety of options from NPR to our global audience,” said Camille Sauzières, Non-Music Content Operations Manager, Deezer.
“We are excited about making NPR podcasts available to Deezer users around the world,” said Dan McCoy, NPR’s senior director of business partnerships. “This year is our 50th anniversary and we’re eager to share our journalism and cultural programming with as many listeners and on as many platforms as possible.”
